To Punish or To Treat

You may say it is not a very smart question but it is not true. It is a question the answer for which may help us to deal with the criminal situation in the world. See, people never do things without any reasons for it, there should be something that makes people act one or another way. In case we find that something we will be able to dispose that something and make things better.

Those people who break the law break it because they have a reason to do that. It means, they have the justification in their heads and this justification gives them a right to do things they do. They act the illegal way because they think they do everything right and this belief is in their heads and they are the authors of such a belief and it is interesting where it comes from.

Sure, it is right to throw these people into jail but it is wrong to leave them there without any help. A skilful psychologist or psychiatrist is needed in order to realize what the reason was to give a man a right to act like that. In case we will dispose that reason there will be no justification and if there is no justification it means that a person will never act like that.

That is why it is important to treat prisoners and not only to throw them into jail. With the throw we only make them sure about their justification and make them twice angry about this world than they were. It is not the way out.
